Kim Hyun Joong holds ’2012 KIMHYUNJOONG Fanmeeting in Seoul’ with 6,000 fans

On January 21st, singer/actor Kim Hyun Joong held his ’2012 KIMHYUNJOONG Fanmeeting in Seoul’ with 6,000 fans at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

The event kicked off with a spectacular laser show that was followed by Kim Hyun Joong’s performances of “Let Me Go” and “Breakdown”.

As he interacted with the MC for the event, Park Seul Gi, the idol discussed his current activities as well as his upcoming plans for 2012. He earned the crowd’s applause during a segment called “Kim Hyun Joong, The Problem Solver”, by offering solutions for fans’ varying problems in his peculiar, yet witty way. He even invited one fan up to the stage and sang for her while acting out the scenario described in the lyrics, causing everyone to laugh.

Fans were treated to a special show from Kim Hyun Joong’s dogs, as he brought up his two puppies onto the stage and had them showcase the numerous tricks they learned in their obedience classes.

Of course, the event wouldn’t have been complete without a performance of his latest hit, “Kiss Kiss”, as well as other hits like “Lucky Guy”, “One More Time”, and “I’m Your Man”.

As the fan meeting reached its end, Kim Hyun Joong didn’t forget to thank the fans who had given up their time off for the Lunar New Year holiday to come spend the day with him, and took a picture with all 6,000 fans in the background.

He concluded, “I’ll become a Kim Hyun Joong who will able to pay you back with more than what I’ve received from all of you… I’ll try my hardest to show you my best side on stage as well as various projects,” before performing the traditional bow in front of all the fans.

The singer will be leaving for Japan today (January 22nd) for the release of his Japanese debut album on January 25th.

SS501 Kim Kyu Jong & F(x) Luna Successfully Learn The Taste Of Performing Thru "Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil"

On the 12th Jan 10pm, at Seoul Itaewon drama filming scene, acting in TV Chosun 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil' idol group SS501 member, Kim Kyu Jong (left) and girl group F(x) member Luna sitting back to back smiling. SS501 member Kim Kyu Jong (25) with a long body frame, sculpture-like appearance capturing all the female fans hearts and recognised as strong powerful vocal with talent in dance idol group F(x) member Luna (19), looking at each other and smile modestly. In TV Chosun weekend drama 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil' Luna is acting as the role of Kim Hae Sook’s maknae daughter ‘Seo In Young’ (21), a college student majoring in Western Painting, while Kim Kyu Jong will play the role of ‘Nicky’ (24), a man who dreams of becoming a musical actor who came to Seoul to realise his dreams. On 12 Jan 10pm, they were filming at Seoul Itaewon. Luna who just return back from Japan, Kim Kyu Jong hastily rushed down to Itaewon after finished recording for a variety show in Gangwon. "Today we are going to shoot the scene where Nicky and In Young start to fall in love, working in the same store where both will have their 1st skinship, confirming the feelings of each other." the two face turned red at the same time after saying it.


From singer to actor, from musical to drama... working down the same path

"I was very surprised when I saw Luna's Musical. Only 18 year old having such fluid acting, was rather shocked." (Kyu Jong)

The two of them have the same resumes. Debuted as idols, was introduced into acting thru musicals, 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil' is their 1st drama debut. Last year Luna won praises for her performance in the musical 'Legally Blonde' and 'Coyote Ugly', while Kyu Jong during the same year in the musical 'GOONG' as the Crown Prince, Prince Shin was greatly loved by in Japan and South Korea.

Kyu Jong said: "During last summer, I went to watch the musical 'Coyote Ugly' acted by Luna, which I realise the meaning of performance." With this compliment Luna immediately waved her hands. "I am flattered by your comments. I am not a dramatic person. In actual fact, what if Kyu Jong oppa came to watch during the performance day where I am not feeling well until I cant perform properly, then what should I do, I was trembling alot! But luckily everything turn out alright." (smile)

"Knowing there will be songs but it also involved acting. After watching the performance I went home and search for Luna's act thru the internet and found that she is only 18 years old. What was I doing at that age, was thinking 'Ah... peforming can really give people a warm feeling and inspiration' right."(Kyu Jong)

Filming 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil" at the same time make the two 'grow a lot'. Luna said, "Cant forget the scene where the day In Young found her mother who secretly went to Seoul crying." "I should be crying, but due the cold, tears couldnt drop out. But, Bong Shil omma Kim Hae Sook SeonSaeNim performance is totally not the same. SeonSaeNim eyes were very sad, when she saw me, she cried and tears just flow down continously. With that I decided 'Cold is not the reason. No matter what the situation is, I must focus on efforts to enhance the feelings'."

Thru 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil' have insights into the profound world of performing "The 'heart, mind' performing is the most difficult. When you should hate but you only hate on the surface, you cant protray the real acting out." (Luna)

The two who were intro into acting "Performing is very interesting, but very tough". Kyu Jong said, "Usually you dont need to think and do those things you need to do and will be very happy." "Not wanting to do have to do, do not like to eat but have to eat. With this you observe people's actions. Record down similiar feelings while following suit with acting." Luna said, "During the feel of burden when in need of finding a standard way of acting, there is no time to feel the fun." "Wanting to smoothly understand acting thus I even chose drama as my major in my university. Although acting will change with the roles given, nevertheless there are bound to have a positive answer isnt it? I want to find the real answer."

The question is not act what you are thinking. "Like wanting to be an actor. But it is not natural. Heard from the sunbaes that showing the 'possible' emotions needs accumulation. The so-called 'no matter what feelings must have a based on', that is not to resort to performing." Kyu Jong even wrote a diary regarding this question, "I wrote in the position of my character. Confirmed what has happened the day before, how tangled things were, whether still angry." Luna worry is 'Cannot believe in yourself'. "There is no such 'I am great' for sure. Performers themselves 'understanding of what is now their own feelings and create the kind of expression is very important'." Kyu Jong said, "Luna is a perfectionist", with that Luna replied, "No I am not", she laughs.


Hallyu Idol even practice and practise during New Year

To popular idols New Year is not holidays to them. Trainees will still train in company, after debuting they gotta digest a very tight schedule thus couldnt be with their family. Luna said, "When I was small when welcoming the New year spring bath, very interesting." "When going back to my grandfather's hometown to celebrate New Year with my relatives, on the way to Seoul we will go to the spring bath spa. I have a twin sister, we will pester our parents whenever we wanna go to the spring bath."

Kyu Jong said, "Whenever there is a gathering of all my relatives, it will be a total of more than 60 people", "Will go back to my hometown in JeonJu to celebrate New Year with my family". "New Year still have to wait in line to greet. But do not need to give red packets." (laugh). "But ever since being a trainee, there isnt a chance for me to go back to visit for 8 years. Not long ago I just met my cousins and I totally couldnt recognise them."

Kyu Jong said gloomily, "This year I am spending New Year alone." "Previously I always spent it with the members, but this year solo activities have no choice but to spend it alone." But not to worry about food. Kyu Jong said, "I can make a good Mandoo(Dumpling) soup ", giving a thumbs up sign. "Buy mandoo,boiled together with rice cakes, anchovy, kelp and eggs and it is ready." Luna, "Wow, you are very good with cooking. Certainly be the same as chef." praised Kyu Jong who shrugged his shoulders.

The two said, "We cant spend the New Year with the readers thus we will give our New Year greetings", "Isnt this year the year of the black dragon, we wish everyone spend the year soaring high like the dragon. Have a blissful new year. Hope everyone will support 'Saving Ahjumma Go Bong Shil'!"

Kim Hyun Joong ranks #1 on Recochoku’s mobile download chart

Kim Hyun Joong is already gaining much interest in Japan.

Although Kim Hyun Joong’s official debut has been slated for January 25th, the tracks off his album have been released for download as mobile message-alert sounds.

Within one day of release, Kim Hyun Joong ranked #1 on the ‘mobile message-alert download daily chart’ with “Kiss Kiss” on ‘Recochoku‘, becoming the first Korean male artist to do so. Asides from “Kiss Kiss”, “Lucky Guy”, “U”, ‘Breakdown‘ and other tracks are also included in the top twenty, evidencing the popularity of the singer.

Furthermore,Kim Hyun Joong is currently preparing for the live show on Japan’s ‘Music Station’ on January 27th. As it is an unprecedented event for a Korean solo artist making his debut to perform on such a popular show, the amount of interest from the Japanese music industry, as well as local media, has been growing.

Idol Group SS501 Kim Hyung Jun (25) returned as an actor after going solo.

In KBS N Drama ‘Sunshine Girl’ he acts as a king of insolent rudeness, slated to illustrate a sweet romance with broadcast writer So E Hyun (28). Kim Hyung Jun’s first acting debut has put forth plenty of discussion. Reason is because he came out from a popular idol group and hitched a free ride to become a leading actor in a drama. However he has no time to be bothered by these slanted views. Made staunch plans for the New Year and also wishes to catch up with his team peer Kim Hyun Joong, who is well ahead of him.

Kim Hyung Jun expressed, “Although has concerns about acting debut, but was engrossed in practising acting for the previous 1 year. Will show my competence. This year’s year end best drama rookie award’s winner will be me.” Heard him saying that even if he catches a cold and with running nose, he will still use his sparkling shining eyes and live up with the aspirations of being “YaMangDol” (“Ambitious Idol”).

Interview: SS501 Kim Hyung Jun became an actor after going solo

In the KBSN cable drama “Glowing She!”, Kim Hyung Jun (25 years old) plays the role of Kang Min who is uneducated and will depict a sweet and romantic love story with the television script writer So Yi Hyun (28 years old). Park Jung Min to return to Korea for Lunar New Year, planning to buy a shop for his mother as a gift

Park Jung Min who has come to Taiwan for a long stay for almost half a year because of the filming of Angie Chai’s production idol drama ‘Fondant Garden’. The new KBS drama “Glowing She” features Kim Hyung Jun who appears as the top star “Kang Min.” Photos from the filming set were revealed on January 19. The pictures show Kim Hyung Jun looking like he is on a solo photoshoot.

SS501‘s Kim Hyung Jun has been gaining praise for his acting in the KBS drama, ‘She’s Completely Insane‘.
